You don’t necessarily have to add them as your in-game friends; you can literally pull up the list of players, choose anyone from the list, and have them accompany you on the battlefield. Tap on the other player’s portrait if you want them to help you out, and they’ll fight alongside you for a specific period of time. Bringing “friends” is useful, especially if you’re in a tough boss battle, or in a situation where the enemy has strength in numbers.

Keep On Upgrading StuffAll the items and characters in this game are upgradable – when talking about items, we mean those you bring and don’t bring with you to the battlefield, and when talking about characters, we naturally mean your Officers. Although it might seem quite complicated at first due to the sheer number of items, you’ll eventually get the hang of it, and know which weapons, equipment, and Officers you should be upgrading regularly, and which ones you should not waste too many upgrades on, if any at all. How To Upgrade Weapons And ArmorThe first thing to do when upgrading weapons and armor is to refine an item, and make sure you’ve maxed it out to the highest possible level.

You can then combine/imbue that item with gems, which work by improving the item’s stats. You can also combine one item with something similar to it, as long as it’s of the same star rating and also maxed out. The former option is usually the better way to go, especially when you’re imbuing items with higher star rarity. The Daily GrindIn Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed, patience is a virtue. And when we say that, that means you should be grinding it out without complaint, replaying missions time and again so you could level up your Officers, gather more equipment and other items, and improve those Officers as you go along. While some may find this tedious due to all the grinding involved, it could be a worthwhile activity for others, as replaying levels and the like usually means you’ll have a much easier time in your next go-around.

Furthermore, this would be the perfect time to use that one feature we usually do not recommend for ordinary, first-time battles, regardless of the game. Use Auto Combat When GrindingThat feature is none other than Auto Combat, and while it’s still not enjoyable in the truest sense, it’s perfect for grinding it out to farm for equipment and the like.

Start a mission, hit Auto, and you’re off to the races – or should we say, the AI’s off to the races. Fortunately, the AI in this game is smarter than most auto-battle AI systems are; provided you’ve got a strong lineup of Officers, you’ll win those replays and earn those rewards in quick and painless fashion.

Just make absolutely sure you aren’t relying on Auto for missions you’re trying to complete for the first time – micromanagement, in any case, will always be better than having the AI do everything for you! Work On Defeating The BossesThe bosses are the hardest enemies to take out, and that means when you’re in a battle in Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed, you should try to defeat the bosses as soon as possible.

Normally, defeating a boss would end a part of a stage, or end the entire stage completely, regardless of how many regular enemies remain. This is a game that would oftentimes require you to work fast by completing battles in less than three minutes, so with that in mind, you should be focusing on the bosses to improve your chances of making your battles short and sweet. As usual, there’s no disadvantage to joining a guild, and no shortage of benefits. For starters, you’ve got your guild donation dailies, which allow you to win new rewards. You can then open chests based on your guild’s total donations, then spend your earnings in the Guild Market. That special shop will allow you to get weapons and armor for free, as well as Officers with one to three-star rarity. It’s those common one-star Officers you’ll usually end up with, but a small chance at three-star Officers, we’d say, is better than no chance at all.

Your Inventory Holds Some SecretsIt is also important that you regularly take a look at your inventory, especially the “Other” tab. That’s because there are a lot of “secrets” normally hidden in there, such as gem bags, XP pouches, and four free action points – those are just a few of the secret freebies you can get from the Other tab, so check it regularly and make good use of that free stuff! How Can You Get More Officers?The process of unlocking new heroes, or Officers in Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed could take quite a while to discuss.

But for the purposes of this article, we shall stick to the basics of unlocking Officers.The very first thing you can do to get more Officers is to grind, just as we had explained above. Be patient and replay missions as often as possible, and you just might be rewarded with some useful Officers.

When we say “useful,” we don’t just refer to using them on the battlefield, but also using them to level up your best Officers. If you keep on grinding and using Auto whenever possible for those battles you’ve already completed, and if work toward improving your best Officers, you could end up increasing their star rarity.It’s also possible to head to the Market and buy Officer Packs.

We cannot stress it enough – Magical Edict is quite an expensive pack, but if you join events such as the ongoing level-up event that gives you premium currency if you reach a certain point, you could end up saving enough for that pack sooner than you expect. 1. Log in daily and collect all rewards
Logging in daily is extremely important, especially if you want to get some high star heroes for your team and quickly progress through the game. There are daily rewards that you should collect, as well as daily missions that offer useful items that help you progress through the game faster.

So make sure to at least log in to the game each day and collect your rewards even if you don’t have time to play. But if you manage to play and complete the quests as well, it’s all better because you get even more items!

2. Look for shiny items
When in battles, I know that it’s all pretty intense and insane, but try to keep your eyes open for shiny objects. Attacking these will reveal some items you can collect which will reward you with different bonuses during combat, for a limited amount of time. Since they’re only working for a set amount of time, it’s best to leave these items for when facing Bosses. (but don’t leave them behind: if you leave an area, you can’t return, so it’s best to get the item anyway!)

3. It’s all about grinding
Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed is a game where grinding is all that matters. You have to play missions over and over again in order to level up your Officers, collect equipment and items in order to make them even better. This is extremely fun for some, but it’s unfortunately time consuming as well. However, Nexon has come to our help in this case to make grinding easier. Here’s what you should do:

Use auto combat! It’s not as fun as playing the game yourself, but it’s extremely useful for when you don’t have time to play. Simply start a mission, hit the auto button and mind your own business. The AI does a pretty decent job at grinding so as long as you have solid Officers, you will easily win your battles and the rewards that come with them. So use this often and you’ll have a lot to gain, while progress will be much faster.

4. Bring friends into battle
…and don’t forget to use them! In most cases, you will not really need them in order to complete a battle but they will usually come in handy. The good thing is that you don’t really need to add them as friends – you can select anybody from the list of players. Just tap their portray while in battle and they will offer you a helping hand for a limited time. Therefore, use them when dealing with difficult bosses or when you’re extremely outnumbered.

5. Upgrade everything constantly
Everything in this game can and should be upgraded, from items you bring into battle to Officers themselves. Even though at first everything seems a bit chaotic and the number of items overwhelming, pretty soon you will have a solid understanding of things and that’s when you should start upgrading your weapons, items and officers.

When it comes to Weapons and Armor, you will first have to Refine an item and have it reach the maximum level. Then, you can upgrade it with various Gems which increase its stats even more, or Combine it with a similar item (same star rating, maximum level). My recommendation is to use the Gems with the higher star items in order to get the most from them.

6. Focus on defeating Bosses
When in battle, it doesn’t hurt at all to focus on defeating the Bosses when present. Defeating a Boss usually ends the stage (or part of the stage) no matter how many other regular soldiers are left on the battlefield. And since one of the requirements for getting the 3 star rewards in the game is to complete battles in under 3 minutes, this helps a lot.

Pro tip: Don’t forget that you can still move your character even after activating a super skill, so make sure you’re always aimed in the right direction.

7. Join a guild and Donate!
As soon as you have the option, join a guild! Then make sure that you’re in an active guild with many (ideally maximum number of) members. Once in the guild, you can use the guild donation daily in order to unlock new rewards, then open chest based on the amount of donations in the guild and spend the earnings in the Guild market where you can get free Weapons, Armor and even 1-3 star Officers!

8. Don’t forget the items in your inventory!
Always keep an eye on your inventory and especially the “Other” tab there since you can have all sorts of goodies hidden there: from Baozi that give you 4 free action points when consumed, to Gem Bags, XP pouches and more. Use them when needed!

9. How to get more Officers
We’ll have an article dedicated to this, but until then, I have a few quick tips to share with you. Grinding is extremely important in the game, as it will reward you with new Officers. You can use these Officers to level up your existing ones and eventually, if you’re patient or active enough, you’ll increase their star count as well.

You should also buy packs from the market – save to get the Magical Edict which gives you 11 officers and one guaranteed 4-star officer, but you could also score a 5 star one. It’s true, it’s expensive, but currently there is a level-up event that rewards you with a ton of Premium currency if you reach certain levels, so take advantage of that. You’re also rewarded Premium Currency pretty often during the game, so just be patient until you have enough to get the Magical Effect pack.
