Hornbach
My husband and I were lucky enough to spend our first night in Germany at Kloster Hornbach. I can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was at this lovely hotel. Hornbach is a cute little village and this hotel seems to be the “heart” of the village. We were immediately impressed with the hotel - a mix of modern and traditional in perfect harmony. We arrived the day after a wedding - earlier than standard check in - exhausted from a long flight from the west coast of the US followed by 4 hours of getting baggage/rental car mix up and drive from Frankfurt to Hornbach. In spite of the fact that we were early, and arriving the day after a wedding that had the small hotel completely full, the hotel staff offered to clean a room quickly so that we could check in early to get some sleep and shower.
Save big on a wide range of Hornbach hotels! Hornbach is known for its historical sites and monuments. Stay in hotels and other accommodations near Roman Museum, Westwall Museum, and Dynamikum. Other sights in the area include Turnverein Hornbach. Hornbach’s Tv commercials have been made to shock. And the latest Hornbach commercial is made in the same shocking manner. Directed by Sam Hibbard the advert “The Smell of Spring” was created by the advertising agency Heimat Berlin, Germany and produced by Anorak Film.
Our room was a standard double room and just perfect. Lots of room and nicely outfitted with all the amenities needed such as robes, blow dryer etc.they even provided homemade cakes and water and fruit, in our room, for a snack. The service was exceptional and in particular, Edelbert (owner) went out of his way to visit with us AND arranged our next night’s lodging in Traben-Trarbach by personally calling the owner of Hotel BELLEVUE.
He even coordinated a wonderful boat ride which included snacks and champagne. Edelbert went above and beyond for us, without us even asking for his help. While all of the staff was amazing, Anna is another staffer I’d like to call out. She was incredibly helpful and always pleasant. The hotel breakfast was very nice - we were able to dine outside and it was delightful. The atmosphere of the casual restaurant was warm and welcoming. The waiters were efficient and very friendly.
We very much enjoyed our short stay at Kloster Hornbach and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you for making our initial impression of Germany such an incredibly positive experience.
I have spent 2 nights in this hotel during a business trip. This hotel is simply stunning, every room has to offer something different, it looks cosy but modern, the rooms are huge and extremely cosy. Additionally, the service is amazing, they even visit your room to prepare the room for going to bed. The meeting rooms were big, there was a projector included, too, and you could use the coffee machine downstairs for free, too. Speaking of 'for free', WiFi is included as well. The only downside is the cell phone network which doesn't get through the thick walls.
Be prepared for some disrupted calls. On my trip through Luxembourg and Rhineland Palatinate, a region in Germany. I stayed in Kloster Hornbach and I felt very welcome right away when I checked in. A really nice employee told me about the spa that I was allowed to use and she reserved a table for me in the restaurant. In my room, I found a personal note and sweet homebaked treat. In the Abby tavern, I did have an outstanding veal entrecote and a delicious glass of German pinot noir.
I The spa was kept open for me on request a bit longer than normal and I treated myself to a relaxing sauna session. I enjoyed the medium soft bed and liked the scenery of the monastery. I would recommend this really special, hospitable and beautiful hotel to everyone. This is a place where one can truly decompress. They've remodeled this Kloster, originally built in 742, very tastefully. The wellness area, food and service are world class.

The rooms are spacey and comfortable with cozy hard wood floors. You need to enjoy the sound of church bells since the large church tower is glocking on the hour. The only areas for improvement would be better natural linens on the beds and if you book a message, don't expect world class aruveyda service, but a cozy, comfortable experience. The Klosterbrau beer is a highlight that pairs well with their healthy delicious food offering.
